Exploitation of and damage to our environment can occur in concealment; they can happen at a global scale; and the potential profits are enormous. The seminar will present types and areas of cross-border criminal exploitation of natural resources, illustrated with sample cases and police methods of investigation and case solving. The aim is to enable participants to recognise and evaluate the extent and forms of environmental crime and to assess the options and reach of intervention by police and other state institutions in this context.
